Integrative Therapies: Bringing the Expressive Arts and Mind-Body Therapies into your Practice

6 hour workshops. 2012 schedule to be announced

Learn how music, imagery and the expressive arts offer a powerful adjunct to traditional therapeutic approaches. Music and imagery work provides a supportive container for the client’s experience of strong emotions as they work through anxiety, depression, grief, anger, and trauma. This offers an empowering means for clients to more deeply engage with their inner struggles as well as inner resources as they develop, establish, and maintain a recovery process individually and as group members. This workshop will also invite participants to experience the unconditional presence of sound as a meditative companion in the process of change. The focus will be on cultivating the mindfulness practices of lovingkindness, forgiveness and gratitude through the unconditional presence of sound and music. Throughout the day, we will introduce various ways of using music and sound to create a sustained environment for enhancing awareness, deepening compassion, and awakening to the present moment.
